Legal specialists: 10% quota for general category gimmick, unconstitutional

Legal experts Tuesday named the bill acquainted in the Lok Sabha with stretch out reservation to financially in reverse areas in the overall class, as “unlawful” and a “political weapon” which is probably going to be “challenged in the court of law”.

The bill tries to correct the Constitution to give a 10% reservation in occupations and instructive foundations to financially in reverse areas in the overall class.

While Dwivedi said the move was a political decision trick, Dhavan communicated his solid resistance by naming the bill as “unconstitutional”.
