Jammu and Kashmir on Monday Fair to heavy rain, snow likely in Jammu and Kashmir till March 24

 Moderate downpour lashed the fields while light snowfall happened in the mountains in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday as the meteorological (MET) office gauge hefty downpour/snow at dissipated spots in the following two days.


"Kindly stay ready and mindful of potential rainstorms/lightning (Don't sit under trees, iron shafts and so forth), torrential slides, water signing in low lying zones, streak flood/landslides," Sonam Lotus, the MET chief said.


"Broad moderate downpour/snow destined to proceed till March 24. Hefty to extremely weighty downpour/snow probably at dispersed spots of the association region."


Srinagar had 7.4, Pahalgam 4.3 and Gulmarg less 0.5 degrees Celsius as the base temperature of the day.


Leh town of Ladakh had less 1.5, Kargil 1.6 and Drass 0.1 as the night's most minimal temperature.


Jammu city had 16.2, Katra 14.6, Batote 8.4, Banihal 8.6 and Bhaderwah 7.5 as the base temperature.
