Back-to-back rains cause landslides and water logging in Mumbai after break

 The southwest monsoon has again emerge as active in Mumbai after an extended gap, bringing heavy rains to the metropolis and neighbouring regions and inflicting a landslide here because of which some humans had been injured, officials said on Tuesday.


Several low-lying regions were additionally inundated following heavy overnight showers, they said.



Since Monday night, the town, neighbouring Navi Mumbai, Thane and other adjoining areas obtained rainfall within the variety of 20 mm to 70 mm, a file of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) stated.


The IMD's observatory in Santacruz (representative of suburbs) recorded forty nine mm rain at the same time as the Colaba observatory (representative of south Mumbai) obtained 29.8 mm rain inside the 24-hour length finishing at eight.30 am on Tuesday, the MeT department stated.
